Dear Friends and Family,
I'm raising funds this year for an organization that has a special place in my heart - FACT Oregon. As a board member, I'm privileged to witness and help drive the important work of supporting and empowering families navigating disability.
This giving season, we introduce you to Kari and Christina, whose families navigate the challenges of disability, behavior, and special education. Kari and Christina were desperate to understand their rights and advocate effectively for support to address behaviors associated with their children’s disabilities at school.
But they didn’t know what to do. At FACT Oregon, Kari and Christina received the support, information, and resources they needed to forge new paths forward and get results.
As Kari put it, “FACT Oregon gave me the clarity I was looking for to bring the ‘I’ into the IEP.” Christina agrees: “FACT was instrumental in helping me to know how to advocate for my son to remain in school and to improve his IEP.”
PLEASE DONATE TODAY!
Allison
Did you know that children with disabilities are twice as likely as their non-disabled peers to be disciplined at school for behavior?
Kari and Christine are two of the parents FACT Oregon has supported recently to help get their kids with disabilities and behavioral health challenges the support they need to thrive at school. Read about their journeys of empowerment and advocacy on our blog.
And DONATE to help more families like Kari's and Christine's.
